In 2010, SE Cornwall elected a Conservative MP who told us that the only way to avoid economic collapse was to drastically cut public spending. In fact this policy strangled growth, so debt continued to rise, whilst public services began to crumble.
98% of dentists in Cornwall are not accepting new NHS patients, so 10s of 1000s of Cornish residents can only see a dentist if they pay privately. The resulting disease, pain and anxiety could all be prevented if the Government fixed the broken system.

Edwina Hannaford was a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me she was the epitome of a great Councillor, working hard every day to make a positive difference to individuals, to Looe, to Cornwall and to the planet.
So deeply saddened to lose my dearest colleague, Cornwall Councillor Edwina Hannaford, after a prolonged struggle against a particularly aggressive form of cancer.
The Conservatives on Cornwall Council, in Parliament and in Government have brought our public services to breaking point. They have no plan to fix the problems they have created.
